Trideum Corporation, a leader in innovative engineering and technology solutions, announced today that co-founder Van Sullivan will step aside from his role as CEO effective August 31, 2025. Mr. Sullivan will remain on the company’s board of directors, continuing to serve in the capacity of Chairman, a position he has held since the company’s inception in 2005. Favio Lopez, Trideum’s President, has been named as Mr. Sullivan’s successor. This strategic move is part of a planned succession that underscores the company’s commitment to long-term growth and stability.
Mr. Lopez’s assumption of the CEO role comes after years of substantial involvement in the company’s leadership and demonstration of a deep commitment to Trideum’s mission, vision, and values. His previous roles within the company including as COO prior to his current role as President, have prepared him well for this new challenge.
Mr. Sullivan, reflecting on his transition, stated, “I am not disappearing. I am staying purposely and regularly engaged. I’ll be taking on more of a coaching role, ensuring continued success and finding ways to keep our culture intact.” He further added, “When we’re in control of a situation and can make our own decisions, we’re always going to be in a much better place than if we’re just reacting to something. And that’s what’s happening here. Transitioning out of the CEO role this year has been my plan for years.”
In his capacity as Chairman, Mr. Sullivan will focus on specific ESOP issues such as governance and corporate structure, special projects, maintaining key industry and customer relationships, and spending purposeful time with employees across the Trideum universe.
Mr. Lopez, who joined Trideum in 2009 after retiring from the U.S. Army, was drawn to Trideum’s culture of servant leadership, dedication to employees, and commitment to quality and “doing the right thing”. His support of these ideals, along with his experience and proven successes for the company, such as leading it to appear on the prestigious Inc 5000 list 13 times, a feat fewer than 1% of companies have achieved, has resulted in an ever-increasing confidence in his decision making over the last several years making him the natural selection.
“Van in particular has been a guide and a coach—a steady presence whose vision, integrity and heart have helped shape this company into what it is today,” said Mr. Lopez. “I am honored to step into this role. Our vision remains clear, and our values of Stewardship, Servant Leadership and Sacrifice remain at its core.”
Trideum Corporation, now celebrating its 20th anniversary and recently becoming 100% employee-owned, looks forward to the next stage in its transformational journey to an evergreen company.
